A Weekend With A Good Friend

My good friend from college, Maria, decided to come visit this weekend before we moved. She has a daughter, Elizabeth, who is 2 weeks younger than Michael, so it is always fun watching them play 'together'. Although they weren't here long, we made the most of our time and packed our Saturday full of fun activities. We got up at a semi-decent hour and hit the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in the morning. I can't believe that I've lived here a year and this is the first time I am going here! Although it wasn't the biggest museum in the world, it had tons of hands-on things the kids could participate in. They even got to play at the animal hospital and pretend to be vets! (Well, we dressed them up while they played with stuffed animals.) :) In the afternoon, we hit the community pool and had a blast. Here's just a few pics of our fun day. Thanks for visiting Maria and Elizabeth!!! We'll miss you guys!

House Hunting

I can't believe that it is that time again already! Time for us to go house hunting to find a place in New Jersey. We figured we would be a lot more productive without the little man, so as hard as it was, we said our farewells and he spent a week with Grandma and Mamaw.
When we came to Ohio to look for houses, we felt so completely lost and didn't know where to begin looking. This time, we did a lot more research before we got out there, set up some showings ourselves and lined up a realtor to work with us as well. So of course, we figured...piece of cake! We'll be done in 2 days and then we can take a little vacation. :)
WHAT A PAIN IN THE BUTT! Even with all of our researching, finding houses was just as hard. They were either too expensive, out in the boonies, or wouldn't take pets. Dang dog. We never did find the perfect house, and feeling that those options were exhausted, we turned to searching townhomes on the last day. Lo and behold, there we found our new abode! And funny thing...the owners are getting restationed In Ohio! Small world. So here is where we will be spending the next 2 years:

On a more fun note, we got to stop and see Adam and Danielle's pad on the way home...finally! Danielle made us a delicious meal while we were there, and then took us to a local restaurant for lunch the next day where they put the fries AND slaw ON the sandwich. I know...it's a crazy world we live in! We got some fun pics of that, as follows...

Mmmm

Taking lessons from the pro...show us how it's done Danielle!
